Reboot the Roots are proud to host Germán Tomás from Catalunya’s Mutual Aid Network of survivors of psychiatry for this embodied exploration of Collective Care.

These are difficult times. We increasingly lead fraught, isolated and hectic lives, with burnout and personal crisis common experiences. Yet during times of crisis we can find it difficult to seek help from within our own communities.

This can mean that care is often wholly sub-contracted to systems that know very little about us. We need to create cultures in our groups that provide care and support for one another, not just in crisis but as the very foundation.

In this workshop we will use tools from the Theatre of the Oppressed to explore our experience with personal crisis. We will look at multiple aspects of psycho-social-emotional health, coming to deconstruct diagnoses and explore mental health as a fluid experience rather than a state, working with stigma and exploring wellbeing from a sociopolitical dimension.

We will look at the multiple ways in which we can offer and accept help and support – collectively – moving beyond simple self-care.

Please contact hanu at reboottheroots.org.uk for more information and to reserve a place. Limited availability, so act today!

Participation fee based on solidarity economics – no one will be turned away for lack of funds.

Includes access to a presentation on Friday 28/6 at 20:00, exploring the concept of “politicising” care and the anti-psychiatric movement in Spain.
