Earlier this month, together with Eden Project Communities, we marked Loneliness Awareness Week and Month of Community by co-hosting ‘Communities Addressing Loneliness and Building Wellbeing’.
During this online event we were joined by Kim Leadbeater MP, Linzi Cason from Empowerment Charity and Nuala Enniskillen from the Kindness Postbox, who each shared their work around loneliness and wellbeing within their local communities.
The event explored just how important connection is in improving our sense of wellbeing – as summarised by Kim Leadbeater MP, who is co-Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Tackling Loneliness and Connected Communities, who said “Let’s keep loneliness on the agenda – let’s talk about how important human connection is to every single one of us.”
If you were unable to join us for the live event, you can catch the event recording below.
We will now be taking a short break in our online events during July and August, but be sure to join us for our next upcoming event later this year in September: Hope in Action – Practices to Help Us Change the World.
Share your thoughts and stay in touch with us over the summer break via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn. You can also join our Building Wellbeing Together Facebook group for regular topics of discussion and to share and connect with other members of the NOW community.
We look forward to welcoming you back to our online event series in the autumn! If you haven’t yet signed up, you can register to join us for ‘Hope in Action – Practices to Help Us Change the World’ on 13th September, here.
We look forward to continuing to connect online, and also would like to wish you a great summer ahead!
