The Network of Wellbeing is delighted to launch some new videos showing the wonderful work of some of our recent Totnes Wellbeing Fund grant recipients: Zest Physiotherapy for Life, Foxhole Community Garden and Magic Dye House. The Totnes Wellbeing Fund aims to support individuals and community groups in Totnes (Devon, UK) and surrounding areas, offering small seed grants to help turn great ideas to boost wellbeing into reality. Because a small change can make a big difference, we’re keen to support initiatives where a little input from us could really enhance personal, community and environmental wellbeing. These new videos show the difference this grant funding is making to some brilliant projects.

Zest Physiotherapy

This video showcases the Functional Fitness MOT events for people over 60, run by Totnes Wellbeing Fund grant recipient Zest Physiotherapy for Life, in Totnes and Dartington over the summer in 2016. Zest Physiotherapy for Life specialises in physiotherapy for older people, and the grant funding enabled them to hire venues, source equipment and promote their events.

The Fitness MOTs were free to attend and took people through a variety of tests of flexibility, muscle power, balance and aerobic endurance, which gave them an indication of their exercise performance and whether they were doing well compared to peers, or could benefit from being more active. You can learn more about Zest Phisiotherapy here.

Foxhole Community Garden

This video shows the transformation of Foxhole Community Garden. This Garden has become a space for people of all ages and sectors of the community to come together with nature, grow healthy food, relationships, bodies and minds with a common goal of caring for the garden.

Totnes Wellbeing Fund grant funding enabled Foxhole Community Garden to obtain the insurance necessary to ensure the safety of groups on site, including a parent and toddler group and for regular volunteer days. Learn more about Foxhole Community Garden here.

Magic Dye House

This video showcases the work of Magic Dye House, a project dedicated to bringing art, nature and colours into hospitals and places devoted to children’s health. Magic Dye House’s work shows how nature and creativity can play an important role in the healing process.

The Totnes Wellbeing Fund grant funding enabled Magic Dye House to purchase materials including paint, brushes and pots to make the colours. You can learn more about Magic Dye House here.
