New Beginnings is a collaboration between Melissa Noble, Hannah Barth and Sue Holden. It’s a six week programme, starting this April, for people, aged 50+, who’ve lost their mojo. It involves nutritional advice, physical activity and mindful practice. Melissa explains.

I met Sue at a networking event in mid 2024. We got talking. I complimented her on her excellent posture. One conversation led to another. I’d also been chatting with another local practitioner, exploring possibilities for a collaboration. The rest, as they say, is history. Six months on and we’ve come up with a cracking plan. A programme that we believe could totally transform the lives of people approaching later life.
It’s so common for people to hit their fifties and feel like they’ve lost their mojo. Transitioning into retirement, adapting to an empty nest, or perhaps dealing with emerging health issues, can leave them wondering who they are and what on Earth comes next.
Our New Beginnings programme is designed specifically for individuals aged 50 and over who are at a pivotal point in life. And because it’s a collaboration between three experts in mental and physical well-being, it’s just the ticket for helping to rediscover some purpose, peace – and joy!
Through a blend of physical activity, nutrition inspiration and gentle mindset practice, our supportive sessions will give participants space and time to reconnect with themselves. Our aim is that they will come away feeling nurtured, more confident and ready for whatever the next chapter brings.
We’re so excited to see what impact our ‘trinity of self-care’ will have.
Here’s what we’re offering:
A six-week in-person programme, beginning April 23rd, in Ide, near Exeter. Each session includes elements from all three experts. We’re covering:
- Nutrition: Learn how to nourish your body in a way that boosts energy, focus, and health. Hannah’s approach is all about finding the joy in food. Easy recipes that make delicious food and give great results. If you’ve lost your love of cooking (or never had it in the first place!), this will help you find the love of food in a healthy way.
- Nordic Walking: A fun and accessible way to get active and improve your cardiovascular health, all while connecting with nature. It’s better than ‘ordinary’ walking because you build upper body strength too. What’s more, there’s less impact on the joints, and as an extra bonus, it’s great for building a strong core too!!
- Mindset Work: So many of us go through life thinking ‘there must be more to it than this’. There is! And these sessions will help you find out what makes your heart sing. If you’ve spent much of your life looking after others or taking care of business, it’s time for a change. Self-care isn’t selfish. It’s essential.
We’re totally in line with the NHS’ 5 Ways to Wellbeing. Our programme will help people
- Connect (with themselves, other people and nature)
- Be active
- Take notice (we’ll be using mindfulness techniques and developing creativity, all in the most wonderful setting)
- Learn (easy, delicious recipes; Nordic Walking technique + strategies to support self-care)
And naturally, great nutrition + increased activity will also help people get better quality sleep and feel more motivated. It’s a win-win-win situation!!
