Sharing projects, like libraries of things and tool libraries, have been running all over the world, offering an opportunity for people to borrow useful items, such as tools, toys, musical instruments, gardening equipment, household appliances and much more, at a low cost.

With many models and ways of operating, such initiatives can offer a real opportunity to support communities to thrive whilst being kinder to the planet. In the UK, there are 50+ projects contributing to this global movement, and they want to support others who are considering setting up a similar initiative.

The UK Sharing Libraries Network is a network of various sharing initiatives across the UK, coming together to answer questions, share information and bounce ideas with those looking to do something similar. In this series of two events you will have the opportunity to chat with people who have been through the ‘ins and outs’ of this journey.

On Friday 1st April 2022, 12.00 to 1.00, you can talk with:

Glasgow Tool Library
Liverpool Tool Library
Borrow Don’t Buy – A Library of Things

The other event in this series takes place on Friday 4th February 2022, details of which can be found here.

Please note: these events are not a workshop as such. Rather, they’re opportunities to clarify questions, share information, and bounce ideas with each other.

This is a free event. Donations to the UK Sharing Libraries Network will be greatly appreciated.
